
Cavanaugh and Brooks Headline Six Pirates On All-Conference Teams

ECU placed a league-high three freshman on the all-freshman team with Hose, Dale Mollenhauer and Ryan Peisel all being honored for their stellar play in their first season at the collegiate level.
Cavanaugh leads ECU and Conference USA in hitting at a clip of .375. The Monroe, Conn. native also leads ECU in hits (69), total bases (103), stolen bases (13), on-base percentage (.445) and slugging percentage (.560).
Brooks tossed three complete games this season, all in conference play. A native of North Tonowanda, N.Y., Brooks finished the season with a record of 5-4 and an ERA of 3.73 in 62 2/3 innings pitched.
Minicozzi currently leads ECU with 44 RBI thus far while ranking second on the team with 65 hits. The junior third baseman, who was a preseason all-conference selection, makes the second team despite missing six C-USA games this season due to injury. Hose, a native of Hagerstown, Md., leads ECU with seven wins thus far while logging a team-high 76 innings on the mound. The freshman right-hander won five games in conference play this season.
Mollenhauer is hitting .371 in conference play, starting 26 of ECU's 30 C-USA games at either second or third. The middle infielder from Gibsonia, Pa. also leads ECU with 26 RBI in C-USA play. Peisel, a native of Marietta, Ga., has split time between first and third for ECU this season. He finished C-USA play with an average of .352, while ranking second on the team behind Mollenhauer with 25 RBI in conference action.
Tulane won three of the four top C-USA honors this season. Utility player Micah Owings won player of the year, Brad Emaus took home freshman of the honors, while head coach Rick Jones was named the 2005 Keith LeClair Coach of the Year. TCU's Lance Broadway was named the C-USA pitcher of the year.
Voting was done by a panel consisting of each head coach, each team's sports information director and a media representative from each city.
