
Men's Soccer Falls To UNC Pembroke In Exhibition Play

Pembroke, NC - The East Carolina men's soccer team fell to in-state foe UNC Pembroke Monday night 3-1 at the Irwin Belk Athletic Complex in Pembroke, NC.
The Pirates got on the board first when Alex Morrow scored in the 41st minute of play on a penalty kick. ECU kept it's 1-0 lead until the Braves Mustapha El M'Hassani scored the first of his two goals on a penalty kick in the 59th minute.
Tuncay Dilek netted the game-winner off an assist by Trond Myrland in the 73rd minute and El M'Hassani capped off the scoring on a Dilek cross at the 81:44 mark.
ECU recorded five shots on the evening, three of which were on goal, while the Braves had seven shots, four on goal. In the net for the Pirates, junior Chris Hicks recorded one save in 90 minutes of action.
The Pirates will be back in action on Saturday, Aug. 27 when they play their final exhibition game of the season against the University of Richmond, in Richmond, Va. at 7 p.m.
