GREENVILLE, N.C. - The ECU Administration has announced that the university will be closed and classes are canceled on Wednesday, September 14th, due to the threat of severe weather. Only staff required to maintain basic university operations are expected to report on Wednesday.
School of Medicine clinical staff should call 744-5080 or 1-800-745-5181 for specific instructions.
ECU Transit will end regular bus schedules at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday; and will only operate the campus shuttle during the day on Wednesday as long as road conditions permit. For more information call ECU-BUS1 or visit their web site: http://www.transit.ecu.edu
As a precautionary measure, state and personal vehicles parked in low-lying areas should be moved to higher ground, especially those parked in the lower College Hill Drive area and the lower Minges lot, as these areas tend to flood during heavy rains. Parking under large trees should also be avoided.
Residence Halls will remain open. Students should check with their RAs about special activities scheduled for Wednesday. Todd Dining Hall, West End Dining, and The Galley will be open on Wednesday. Please use extreme caution when walking on campus during the storm.
The next update will be made after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, unless conditions warrant an earlier announcement.
