Greenville, N.C. - East Carolina senior forward Mike Castro will be out indefinitely after sustaining an injury to his right foot announced head coach Ricky Stokes on Monday.
Stokes also announced that sophomore guard Tom Hammonds would not play in Wednesday night's game against Memphis after suffering a sprained left ankle against Saint Paul's this past Saturday. He is listed as questionable for Saturday's game at UTEP.
Castro, who has not played since December 18 at Winthrop, has been plagued by the nagging injury and has seen action in just seven games after playing in all 28 games a year ago. He is averaging 2.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in eight minutes per game this season.
Hammonds is averaging 3.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 16 minutes of action per game this season.
