TULSA, Okla. - The East Carolina volleyball squad fell to Tulsa 3-0 (30-26, 30-23, 30-12), on Sunday afternoon in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The win by the Golden Hurricanes extends its current win streak to nine matches. With the win, TU improves to 18-3 on the season and 5-0 in Conference USA play. ECU falls to 10-9 and 1-4 in C-USA.
Three TU hitters reached double-figures in kills for the match, led by Kassiana Urnau's 17. Fabiola Nepomuceno and Germana Hilario also contributed 12 kills apiece. Julia Silva posted 45 assists, while Urnau recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 13 digs.
Stephanie Turner led the Pirates with 10 kills and four digs. Trish Monroe tallied 18 digs in the loss while Heidi Krug notched 33 assists.
The Golden Hurricane took advantage of a 56-39 in kills, as well as a .409-.132 advantage in hitting percentage over the Pirates. The match marked the 13th time this season the Hurricane has held an opponent under a .150 hitting percentage.
East Carolina returns to Minges Coliseum on Friday, Oct. 6 when it plays Conference USA foe UAB for a 7:00 p.m. match. The Pirates will remain in Greenville on Sunday, Oct. 8 for a Noon match against Memphis.
