GREENVILLE, S.C. - The men's and women's cross country team competed in the Furman Invitational on Saturday and have continued to show their improving ways. Nicole Briggs finished eighth out of 125 female runners. Stephen Tausend finished 41st in the men's division out of 131 runners.
The Lady Pirates finished in seventh place and the men ended up in 9th place out of 16 teams. Throughout the course of the season both the men's and women's team have shown tremendous improvement.
"This was our last meet before the Conference USA Tournament," said head coach Curt Kraft. I think this event provided a good tune-up and we are happy to put the regular season behind us."
East Carolina will be the host of the C-USA Tournament to be held on Oct. 28. The men will take off at 10:30 a.m. and they will be followed by the women at 11:30 a.m.
