NEW ORLEANS, La. - Nikki Luckhurst connected on a pair of free throws with 6.4 seconds remaining to give Tulane an 81-78 overtime win over the Pirates Sunday afternoon at Fogleman Arena.
Jasmine Young tied a career-high with 25 points, including four three-pointers.
With the game locked at 65 after regulation, ECU (15-10, 7-7) jumped out to a 71-67 lea behind consecutive baskets from LaToya Horton.
Luckhurst hit a 17-foot jumper with 25 seconds left in the overtime to give Tulane (13-10, 7-7) a one point lead, 75-74. On the next possession Young was called for an offensive charge, turning the ball over and helping Tulane pad their lead.
With 6.4 seconds left, Young drained her fourth three of the afternoon setting up one final Pirate shot. Jessica Slack, who scored 12 points - all coming in the first half, threw up a desperation shot that hit off the left side of the rim with less than a second remaining.
LaCoya Terry and Cherie Mills also scored in double figures for the Pirates collecting 14 and 12 respectively.
The Pirates will be back in action on Friday night when they host Southern Miss inside Minges Arena.
