
Volleyball Signs Two

GREENVILLE, N.C.--Katelin Koop and Britney Roper have signed National Letters of Intent to play volleyball at East Carolina in 2007, head coach Chris Rushing announced today.
Koop, a 6-0 setter from Klein High School in Klein, Texas, led the Bearcats to a 12-0 record in her senior season. She was named first-team all-district and team MVP. Koop also earned first-team all-district honors as a junior and honorable mention honors as a freshman.
Roper, a 6-3 outside hitter from Pender High School in Burgaw, N.C., was named Pender County Player of the Year while leading the Patriots to the Conference Championship. She was named to the all-conference team as a junior and senior, and was a Wendy's Heisman nominee as a senior. Roper was a part of four conference championships while at Pender, and finished second in the state her freshman and senior campaigns.
The 2006 East Carolina volleyball squad finished the season with a 19-12 record, falling in the first round of the Conference USA tournament in Houston, Texas.
