GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's basketball team will make two television appearances in 2007-08 according to a release by Conference USA Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Pirates will make their first of two showings on Feb. 10, when they travel to El Paso, Texas for a 2:00 p.m. EST tip-off against UTEP that will be aired by ESPN2. Head coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener's squad played on the Connecticut-based network three times last season, going 2-1 including the C-USA Championship game.
ECU then welcomes UAB to Minges Coliseum for a CSTV appearance on Feb. 21 that will feature a rematch of last year's C-USA semifinal contest against the Blazers. East Carolina had two games on CSTV last season, including the semifinals of the C-USA Championship Tournament, a game which the Lady Pirates won 85-81.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to be on ESPN and CSTV again this season," Baldwin-Tener said. "Conference USA is going to be tough this season and both of these games on television against UTEP and UAB should be great games for the fans to watch."
CSTV will carry the two semifinal games of the 2008 C-USA Women's Basketball Tournament, while ESPN2 will pick up the championship contest live on March 9.
The Lady Pirates will officially begin their quest to repeat as Conference USA champions on Nov. 11, hosting Presbyterian in the season opener. Tip-off from Minges Coliseum is set for 2:00 p.m.
