GREENVILLE, N.C. - Former East Carolina University offensive tackle Eric Graham has agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers on a free agent contract according to a release by the National Football League organization Tuesday afternoon.
Graham, who was not selected in this past weekend's draft, will participate in the team's mandatory three-day mini-camp May 4-6 at the Panthers' practice facility at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
A Jacksonville (N.C.) native who prepped at Richlands High School, Graham recently completed his ECU career after starting 34 of 40 games on the Pirates' offensive line. In all, he experienced action in 2,320 snaps and was credited with a combined 183.5 knock-down blocks, dating back to his redshirt freshman campaign in 2003.
Graham, 23, was selected to both the coaches and media All-Conference USA squads (second team) as a senior in 2006 after helping guide the Pirates to their first winning season since 2000 and first bowl berth since 2001. He opened the year with 11 straight starts to extend his program-best streak to 33 before missing the N.C. State contest because of a knee injury. Graham returned to the lineup against USF in the Papajohns.com Bowl and logged three knock-downs to complete the season with a total of 36.0 in 753 plays.
He topped ECU's line as a junior and sophomore with 65.0 and 82.5 knock-downs, respectively, while starting all 11 games each season. As a junior, Graham established a career single game-best with 12 knock-downs each in tilts against West Virginia and UCF.
Graham participated in a season-high 764 plays in 2004, starting seven games at left tackle and four at right tackle while earning a team-high composite position grade of 77.5 percent. He registered 42 snaps as a freshman in 2003 after redshirting the final year of former coach Steve Logan's tenure in 2002.
