Being from New York, it's not too often that you find yourself in a tornado warning, but that all changed today. Upon arrival in Houston, and after meeting the East Carolina baseball team at baggage claim, it was announced we were under a tornado watch (good thing the flight landed when it did.)
It wasn't raining at the time, and in a way, it was only a fitting way to kick off what should be a wild and wacky weekend between the Pirates and Cougars of Houston. Two teams that don't like each other very much on the baseball diamond.
The series implications are huge. Houston will begin Friday night's contest 2.5 games in front of East Carolina in the race for second place in Conference USA (Rice seemingly has the conference's top seed wrapped up with a 4.5 game lead).
