
Katie Koop Named Conference USA Setter-Of-The-Week

IRVING, Texas - After helping the East Carolina volleyball team to a 3-1 record this past week, freshman Katie Koop has been named C-USA Setter-of-the-Week. This is the first-career weekly honor for Koop and first for the program since Heidi Krug was honored last season (Oct. 16).
Koop was named to the Holiday Inn Brownstone Volleyball Challenge All-Tournament Team after averaging 13.83 assists and 2.50 digs per game. The Texas native recorded a career-high 56 assists against North Carolina State, followed by a pair of 55 assist performances versus Akron and Dartmouth. The freshman ranks third in the league in assists per game with an average of 12.43.
Houston's Justine Farmer was named C-USA's Offensive Player-of-the-Week after averaging five double-doubles and 5.14 kills per game and Tulane's Jenn Miller was named Defensive Player-of-the Week after averaging 5.50 digs per game.
The Pirates will play the eighth match of their 12-game road stretch Tuesday night as they travel to Wilmington to take on the UNCW Seahawks. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside Hanover Hall.
