
ECU Cracks Top-25 In Three Polls

GREENVILLE, N.C. - On the heels of its first Conference USA sweep of the season over Marshall, the East Carolina baseball team has cracked the top-25 in three national collegiate baseball polls Monday afternoon garnering a No. 23 ranking by Rivals.com and a No. 24 spot in the polls by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball.
The Pirates (26-9, 8-4) posted a perfect 5-0 week which included wins over Elon, Old Dominion and a sweep of Marshall. On the week, ECU outscored its opponents 32-19, batted .314 and pounded out 55 hits.
ECU also garnered a No. 26 ranking by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and received 68 votes this week for the ESPN/ USA Today Coaches poll.
The Pirates will put its seven-game winning streak on the line Tuesday night when they return to action to face in-state rival No. 28 N.C. State on Tuesday, April 15 at Doak Field with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch scheduled.
