GREENVILLE, N.C.--Head Women's Basketball Coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener has added an additional piece to her 2008 recruiting class with the signing of Crystal Wilson.
Wilson, a 5'9" combo guard, led her Millbrook High School team to a 26-5 record this past season and a berth in the NCHSAA Eastern Regional. She averaged 15 ppg. and 8 rpg., with top games of 30 and 29 points, all the while leading her team in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals. Wilson is a four-time First Team All-Conference performer, earning First Team all Tri-Eight accolades her freshman year and First Team all Cap-7 her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. In addition, as a junior, Wilson was named the Cap-7 Player-of-the-Year.
"Crystal is a very versatile guard," Baldwin-Tener explained. "She is a very aggressive driver as well as having a nice pull-up jumper. I love her competitiveness on the floor. She will fit nicely into our pressing, up-tempo style of basketball. We look forward to Crystal joining our Pirate Family."
