GREENVILLE, N.C. - In conjunction with continued preparation efforts for the Pirates' nationally-televised game against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Thursday, Nov. 5, East Carolina University Department of Athletics officials announced its game-day parking schedule to accommodate the 7:30 p.m. kickoff inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
To mitigate traffic congestion as much as possible, all reserved parking lots around the stadium requiring a permit will open at 4 p.m. Remote lots on the Brody School of Medicine campus will be available beginning at 5 p.m., with shuttle bus service ($5 round-trip) starting at 5:30 p.m.
Fourteenth (14th) Street will close at 5:30 p.m. to all vehicular traffic and remain closed for 1 1/2 hours after the game. This closing will take place from Charles Boulevard to Berkley Road in order to expedite the flow of shuttle bus routes to and from the BSOM remote lots.
Similar to traditional Saturday contests, reserved parking permit holders (Gold, Blue, Purple, White, and EC) can reach Berkley Road to enter their reserved parking lots by accessing 14th Street via the Elm Street intersection.
In addition, general public RV parking areas in the Belk Lot can be accessed as early as 4 p.m. Thursday with an overnight stay permitted after the game.
OTHER RULES ENFORCED FOR NOV. 5 ONLY
1. Tow-behind-cookers are prohibited in all reserved parking areas.
2. Cueing up and/or waiting in line is prohibited on all streets leading into reserved parking areas, including all streets surrounding Elmhurst Elementary School and C.M. Eppes Middle School.
