
Volleyball Makes Quick Turnaround At Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. - After falling in three sets to SMU Friday night in Dallas, the East Carolina volleyball team returns to the court just 24 hours later, matching up against Tulsa at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Reynolds Center.
The Pirates are 8-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play while the Golden Hurricane sit at 11-5 in 2009 and 1-2 in C-USA action after a 3-1 victory over league leader Marshall. The loss marked the first in conference for the Herd this season.
Against the Mustangs, senior Stephanie Turner paced the offense, notching 10 kills for her 10th double-digit effort this season. Classmate Hannah Fenker also turner in a solid effort, notching her team-leading fifth double-double of the campaign in handing out 26 assists and adding 14 digs. Defensively, ECU had three players reach double-digit kills, led by Fenker. Lizzy Bruin and Nicole Jones added 10 to contribute to the team total of 49.
Tulsa is led offensively by Tyler Henderson, who owns 245 kills this season for an average of 4.22 per set. Hannah Stout lurks close behind, as she has accumulated 238 for a 4.03 per set mark. In the back row, Jessica Adams serves as the team's leading dig collector, having picked up 290, good for almost five a set.
