GREENVILLE, N.C. - Despite posting a 1-4 week, which included its lone win over No. 1 Rice, the East Carolina baseball team still garnered national recognition in four polls this week.
The Pirates (26-9, 9-3) were tabbed No. 17 by the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll, No. 20 by the National Baseball Collegiate Writers Association (NCBWA), No. 23 by Baseball America, and No. 25 by Rivals.com.
ECU's appearance in the polls this week marks the ninth consecutive week they have been ranked in at least one poll, which is the longest stretch since the 2004 season.
The Pirates will be back in action this week when they host a pair of midweek games against Campbell (Tuesday) and N.C. State (Wednesday) before resuming C-USA action on Friday at Tulane.
