RICHMOND, Va. - Former East Carolina all-conference outside hitter Cinta Claro has been named to the Colonial Athletic Association's volleyball silver anniversary squad, league officials announced Tuesday.
A native of Burnsville, Minn., Claro was a three-time All-CAA performer for the Pirates (1998-2000) who graduated as the school's all-time leader in kills (1,396). As a senior in 2000 she led the league in digs per game (3.26) and finished her career with 1,107 digs.
As part of its 25th Anniversary celebration in 2009-10, the CAA is recognizing Silver Anniversary teams in 21 championship sports. The teams are selected by a panel of current and former head coaches in the conference.
ECU was a charter member of the CAA and competed in the conference from 1985-2000.
