
Meet The Pirates Scheduled For Aug. 22

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The 15th Annual Meet the Pirates Night, East Carolina's preseason football fan fest, will be held this Saturday, Aug. 22, at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium from 6-8 p.m. This year's event will once again be free for everyone and be family friendly.
Pirate football fans are invited to bring the whole family out to get to know the 2009 ECU football team. For this fun and entertaining event, fans will be able to take photos and receive autographs from players, coaches, and cheerleaders. In addition, on display will be the new ECU 18-Wheel Equipment Truck that will accompany ECU on all away football games. Activities will include the opportunity to walk on the field, pirate tattoos, and inflatable rides and games. Jeff Diamond, the radio host of ECU's flagship station 107.9 WNCT, will be on hand to MC and provide music for this event. Also ARAMARK concessions, Dowdy Student Stores souvenir booth and 2009 Pirate Football media guides will be on sale.
Meet the Pirates Fan Fest will be held at the scoreboard end of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and is open to the public (no tickets will be sold for this event). Fans are asked to enter through Gate 7 on the north side of the stadium.
The Pirates open the 2009 home schedule Saturday, Sept. 5 against the Appalachian State Mountaineers with a noon kickoff scheduled. Ticket information is available online at www.ECUPirates.com or by calling the ticket office at 1-800-DIAL-ECU.
