ECU Head Coach Mack McCarthy
On the victory
"We had played two really good games in-a-row and have failed to finish them. The theme of this game was to try to finish one and it was eerily similar to some of the other games we have played and didn't perform really well in."
On how the game was won "We made the free throws and got enough stops to win down the stretch. I thought Jamar Abrams was really well on the defensive glass and Chad and Darrius gave us a good inside presence.
"Central did a good job of adjusting and matching up in the zone and taking some things away. No matter which alignment we got in, they adjusted to it."
On Chad Wynn and Darrius Morrow
"Chad has played three really good games in-a-row and Darrius is an outstanding player who comes in and out of the game mentally. He needs to dominate a little bit more, but clearly these guys are factors and will be factors in the league games against big front lines."
On how non-conference games prepared them for conference play
"We have played one of the top 20 non-conference schedules according to the RPI. We have seen a little bit of everything. There is nothing in the league that will be new to us. We have experienced playing at a high level or against a high level of oppositions and we're going to see a lot of that in the league."
On the team's mindset
"The team is looking at it as a new year and a new season. Our goal is the NCAA Tournament and the only way we're going to get there now is to finish high enough in the league to get a good seed, and then win the conference tournament. They know what is at stake and they know exactly how we can get there and that is their focus."
