Women's Basketball Plans Purple-Gold Game

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's basketball team will continue its preparations for the 2010-11 season with a Purple-Gold Scrimmage Oct. 23 at 1:30 p.m. in Minges Coliseum. The game precedes the 4:15 p.m. football contest against Marshall that will serve as part of Homecoming on the ECU campus.
Admission is free to the scrimmage.
The Pirates return all five starters and 11 letterwinners from a squad that posted a 23-11 record and advanced to the second round of the WNIT. ECU plays a tough nonconference schedule that features the likes of Maryland, UCLA, Charlotte and VCU. The 2006 national champion Terrapins highlight the field for the 2010 East Carolina Thanksgiving Tournament (Nov. 26-28), which also includes Massachusetts.
