ECU Head Coach Mack McCarthy
" We did a lot of the things we had to do to win, we rebounded with them, kept them off the offensive glass, we shot a decent percentage, turnovers were even, we did a nice job on Uzoh and a decent job on Jordan but Hurtt was just awesome."
"The game got to be a little bit faster pace than we wanted it to, but we did not have an answer for Hurtt. They did not have an answer for Brock but [Hurtt] had a little bit more of a supporting cast."
"You have to play the percentages. You have to take away Uzoh because he creates everything. You have to worry about Jordan because he can dominate with his size and ability, so the next guy on the list is Hurtt. Richard is a role player who had a good stretch in the second half where he hurt us. Wheatley does what they need him to do in their offense. We got Idlet in foul trouble so he was not as big of a factor as he usually is but we just could not generate enough offense."
Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik
"A really good win for us. It's been two-and-a-half weeks since we won a game, for different reasons. We're a good team we just ran into some really good competition, two of which were on the road."
"We spent so much energy Thursday night and played a whale of a game. I'm really pleased with my team. I really feel [ECU] has pieces. We were really surprised Wynn got scratched, but they started four 3-point shooters. I always thought Abrahams was a dangerous player and quite honestly Brock Young surprised me tonight."
Junior Brock Young
"The plan was to keep Uzoh out of the paint and double up on Jordan. We did not hustle out to the shooters and do the little things we needed to do to win tonight."
"We did not expect that out of [Hurtt]. We thought he was athletic but we did not know he was a shooter. He came out and he hit a couple and got on a hot streak and that was it."
Sophomore Darrius Morrow
"It was very tough [defending Jerome Jordan]. He's a good player, pro prospect, I played as hard as I could play against him, but me being undersized did not help much but I gave it my all."
