GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina volleyball program will host a USA Volleyball High Performance advanced skills position clinic Sunday, April 11 at Minges Coliseum. ECU head coach Pati Rolf will serve as the leader for the clinic and she will be joined by Pirate assistants Katie Virtue and Kelley Wernert, as well as High Performance coach Kevin Gould.
"We are very excited to welcome the USA High Performance Program to East Carolina," Virtue stated. "The volleyball athletes in the Carolina Region will have an invaluable opportunity to train with several coaches who are active in the USA Volleyball Youth and Junior Programs. This clinic will help prepare them for future USA tryouts and competition in this region and across the country."
Attending the clinic makes an athlete eligible to be considered for an invitation to the Region High Performance Team tryout, which will be used to select a squad for the High Performance National Championship in Tennessee July 22-31, 2010.
Athletes currently enrolled in fourth-eighth grades will participate in the morning session from 12-3 p.m. while prospects in ninth-12th grades are slated to train from 3-6 p.m.
The cost for the event is $40 for pre-registered (pre-paid four days prior to clinic) members of the Carolina Region. Non-members will pay a one-time event fee of $5.00 (extra). Registration is handled online and can be found at http://www.crvb.org/HP/hpschedule.html.
