East Carolina Head Coach Jeff Lebo
"I didn't think we came out to start the game with a lot of intensity and I don't know why. We were finally playing at home, we had our home crowd. I didn't think we had a lot of juice and Tulane may have had something to do with that."
"Offensively in the first half we struggled in a lot of areas, but in the second half we did a much better job. We got a lot of good looks at the basket and shot a high percentage."
"Jontae was terrific for us offensively. He continues to play really, really well. Darrius (Morrow) did some nice things for us as well."
On The Defensive Effort
"They're a unique team to plan for and play. They play four guards and get you spread out. They can drive the ball to the basket. We did a good job of not fouling. We were able to get to the foul line more than they did and that was big for us."
"We did a good job defensively, the play of Erin Straughn was big and he did a great job on Timmons for a majority of the game. In the second half he seemed to come down with every big rebound. He was really active defensively and on the glass. He also had a big 3 in the second half for us."
"We've been in a ton of close games, nice to finally come out on top and win."
On This Week's Schedule
"We're in a stretch where we had five games in five weeks, now we have four games in eight days. We're going to have to rely on our bench players to give us some minutes and do something positive to help the team get better.
On How The Bench Played
"I thought some guys did [gave us positive minutes] tonight. Chad Wynn gave us a nice lift, Wakefield Ellison got in, made a big shot and defended pretty well, and that was positive for those guys. Robert Sampson did some good things when he was in there."
Tulane Head Coach Ed Conroy
On The Last Four Minutes Of The Game
"Credit them, especially down the stretch for a while both teams were trading baskets but the last four or five minutes they executed better than we did. We weren't moving it well as we needed to. With our lack of size, we need to move the ball. We have several guys who can shoot from outside."
"The last four minutes there were a couple possessions we'd like to have back, but there were three or four times I thought we got good looks but didn't convert. Maybe it was a little fatigue because we didn't play a lot of guys tonight, but I thought we [played] pretty well."
