GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina will make at least one appearance on national television in 2011-12, according to the release of the Conference USA women's basketball television by league officials Monday.
CBS Sports Network will be on hand at Minges Coliseum Thursday, Feb. 2 as the Tulane Green Wave travel to Greenville for a C-USA contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tulane hosted ECU at Fogelman Arena in 2009 in a game that was broadcast on the then CBS College Sports network as the Green Wave won a 72-69 thriller on a buzzer-beating three-point shot at the end of regulation.
The Pirates made a pair of television appearances last season, falling at Houston on ESPN2 and downing Marshall at Minges Coliseum in front of the 10th-largest crowd in program history (2,861) and a CBS College Sports audience.
If East Carolina advances to the semifinals and title game of the 2012 C-USA Women's Basketball Championship in Memphis, Tenn., those contests would air on the CBS Sports Network.
Additional broadcasts featuring ECU may be added at a later date by local television entities.
