East Carolina Head Coach Jeff Lebo
Opening Statement
"I was pleased with the way we came out and responded in this game. We got a chance to play a lot of different people. I was worried about this game, they played Wofford to a three-point game and Winthrop to a nine-point game. I thought we did a lot of nice things. We hurt them inside, which is where we wanted to go offensively. Defensively I thought we did a nice job for the majority of the game. Erin Straughn was terrific, we put him on (Travis) Berry who shot 4-of-20 from the floor. With him he is certainly capable of getting it going from the perimeter. I thought (Darrius) Morrow did a nice job on (Josh) Jordan, who is a guy that can really score."
On the game plan for post players
"We wanted to go inside all night if we could. We had some really open looks from the perimeter that we shot that were early, they were so open our guys couldn't pass those shots up. That was our design, we wanted to hurt them inside."
On getting playing time for reserves
"We played a lot of the guys that haven't played a lot. (Darius) Morales and Petar (Torlak) got some minutes, those guys work hard in practice and it was nice to be able to get them some extended minutes out there to play."
Junior Maurice Kemp
On the Pirates' current five-game winning streak
"It's good to get it rolling going into conference, it's huge for us. When you get a couple of wins under your belt, everyone feels great about it. The atmosphere in the locker room is great right now."
Freshman Paris Roberts-Campbell
On his shooting performance
"I just needed to see one go down. I have been coming every day to get extra shots in so I can knock them down in the game. After I hit one in the first half, my teammates told me to keep shooting and I was able to knock some down in the second half."
