
Jamar Abrams Named C-USA Player-of-the-Week

IRVING, Texas --- East Carolina senior Jamar Abrams has been named Conference USA Player-of-the-Week as voted upon by a media panel covering the 12 conference schools.
In earning the first weekly honor of his career, Abrams led the Pirates in scoring in both conference games last week, averaging 21.5 ppg in a pair of victories of UTEP and Rice.
He scored a season-high 25 points in the Pirates' 83-76 win over UTEP on Wednesday. His 3-pointer at the end of the first half against UTEP gave the Pirates a two-point lead at halftime that they never relinquished.
Abrams made a season-high five 3-pointers in both games and shot a combined 10-of-16 (.625) from behind the arc and 14-of-21 (.667) from the floor. He also averaged 5.0 rebounds per game in 32 minutes.
