Signee Melvin Closes In On School Record

ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. (WWAY) - East Bladen High School senior standout CJ Melvin only needs 17 points Friday to break Ann Hancock's school scoring record of 2276. Hancock is currently an assistant women's basketball coach at East Carolina University.
Ironically, Melvin will attend East Carolina next fall on a basketball scholarship. Hancock previously served as the women's head basketball coach at UNC Wilmington.
East Bladen head coach Patty Evers is also going for win #300 on Friday as the Eagles play host to South Columbus High School.
