East Carolina Head Coach Jeff Lebo
Opening statement
"That's a good basketball team we lost to. They are very well coached, tough, disciplined, and a balanced team. They do what they do very well. They did the things we talked about that makes them good and needed to keep under control. Offensive rebounding in the first half hurt us and they hurt us at the foul line. Not having offensive production from our bench at all in the game, we got out-scored 37 to 6 there. Too many guys who didn't give us any kind of offensive production in the game. Our kids practice really hard for two days and they are really positive and we come out in the first 15 minutes I thought we played really well. Then Miguel got that second foul and we had to go to the bench, that is when we really struggled and didn't finish out the half very well."
Thoughts on losing streak
"Losing weighs on everybody. You work awfully hard, you watch film, do all this stuff to prepare to play and it does weigh on you. I told them no matter what, whether you have won six in a row or lost six in a row the only thing you can do is you can only focus on going forward. That's what we're going to do."
ECU senior Darrius Morrow
"Nobody likes to lose in anything, so that is frustrating, but we just have to keep working hard. The season doesn't end tonight so we have to keep fighting and use these last 10 games to springboard into something good."
ECU junior Miguel Paul
"I am a competitor so I hate losing, but it's still a long season. We have a lot of games left, so we have to stay positive. We are working our tails off every day in practice. We have to look forward to the next one on Saturday and staying hungry. I can tell you this; we are never going to give up."
