- The Pirates had their five-game winning streak snapped, suffering their first loss since Dec. 6 against Massachusetts.
- ECU suffered its second two-point loss of the season on the road (also losing at Campbell, 76-74). Four of the Pirates five losses this year have been by five points or less with three of those losses occurring on the road.
- The Pirates shot over 50 percent in both halves for the first time since hosting Southern Miss inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum last year (Jan. 26, 2011).
- ECU shot over 50 percent from the field for a second straight game, the first time that has occurred since posting back-to-back 50 percent shooting performances against Marshall and Memphis in January of 2010.
- Darrius Morrow made nine free throws to surpass Brock Young as the school's all-time leader in free throws made with 332. The previous record of 330 was set by Young last season.
- Miguel Paul recorded his first career double-double finishing with 19 points and a career-high 10 assists.
- The Pirates shot 93.8 percent (15-16) from the free throw line to tie for the fourth-highest free throw shooting percentage in school history. They made their first 15 attempts before Paul intentionally missed on the 16th attempt of the game.
- Darrius Morrow and Maurice Kemp both scored double figures for a seventh straight game.
- Miguel Paul (3-8) and Paris Roberts-Campbell (3-5) combined to go 6-of-13 from behind the arc.
