Series Notes
- ECU won its Conference USA home opener for the fourth time in six years.
- ECU snapped a two-game losing streak to UCF and improved to 6-13 all-time against UCF, including a 4-2 mark under coach Jeff Lebo.
- East Carolina is 3-6 against UCF inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum with each of its victories coming in odd years (2009, '11, '13).

- East Carolina surrendered a season-high 37 field goals and 46 rebounds. UCF's 52.9 shooting percentage was the best by any opponent this season.
- East Carolina committed a season-low seven turnovers.
- Senior Miguel Paul distributed a season-high 11 assists, one shy of his career-high of 12. He also played a season-high 38 minutes.
- Junior Ty Armstrong scored a career-high 16 points. He has scored double figures in three of the last four games.
- Senior Shamarr Bowden scored a season-high 16 points, making a season-best six field goals. He was also credited with a career-high three steals.

Miscellaneous Notes
- Sophomore Robert Sampson posted his fourth double-double of the year (11 points, 10 rebounds).
- The Pirates won for the first time this season when surrendering 80 points (1-3). ECU improved to 5-3 this season when scoring 80 or more points.
- The 17-point comeback is tied for the largest comeback at ECU since 1981. It was the second time this year that the Pirates rallied from a double-digit second half deficit to wins (-14 vs. UNCG).
- Junior Akeem Richmond had his consecutive games with a 3-pointer streak snapped at eight, while Bowden extended his streak to nine games.
- Senior Miguel Paul posted his first double-double of the year and fourth of his career.
- The Pirates won their 998th game in program history.
- ECU handed out more than 20 assists (21) for the fifth time in the last six games.
- East Carolina improved to 1-1 in overtime games this season and 3-3 under coach Lebo.
