October 01, 2014 | Women's Basketball
GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's basketball team's game times and television schedule for the 2014-15 regular season were announced by the American Athletic Conference on Wednesday.
The Pirates will make at least 11 appearances on national television, in addition to a pair of broadcasts on the American Sports Network. Nine contests will be shown on ESPN3, while East Carolina's league opener at USF on Dec. 28 at 12 noon, as well as the second meeting between the two schools in Greenville on Feb. 15 at 2 p.m., will air on ESPNU.
ECU's games versus UConn on Dec. 31 and Jan. 28 can be seen on SportsNet New York (SNY) at 2:30 and 7 p.m., respectively. A minimum of two games will be shown on the American Sports Network (ASN), including Jan. 14 at Tulsa and the March 2 meeting with UCF in Greenville. Additional games may be broadcast by ASN and will be announced at a later date.
Head coach Heather Macy enters her fifth season at the helm of the program and has led East Carolina to 22 wins in each of the last two seasons, marking just the second time in program history the Pirates recorded back-to-back 20-win campaigns and the first since 1986. ECU has won 27 of its last 28 home games and returns all five starters from last year's squad.
East Carolina opens the season Nov. 14-15 at the URI Invitational in Kingston, R.I., where it will take on Fairfield and Rhode Island. The Pirates will begin their home slate Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., when College of Charleston comes to Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
Season tickets for the team's first year in the American Athletic Conference are on sale now and can be purchased through ECUPirates.com or by calling the athletics ticket office at 252-737-4500.
