
Pirates Close Out Fall Campaign At Pinetree Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina University men's golf team will conclude its fall schedule on Monday when it opens play at the 2014 Pinetree Intercollegiate at the par-72, 7,108-yard Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga.
The tournament will be the final event in the Pirates' five-event fall schedule in which they have posted one win and two runner-up finishes.
The Pirates, ranked No. 18 in the latest Golfstat power rankings, will compete in an 11-team field that includes one American Conference foe (Cincinnati) and a pair of Golfstat Top-100 teams (No. 34 Kennesaw State, No. 89 Miami (Ohio)). The remainder of the field includes Akron, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville State, Liberty, Lipscomb, Ohio and Western Carolina.
Round one will begin on Monday with tee times set for 8:10 a.m. ET from the No. 1 and No. 11 tees. The second round will begin immediately following the conclusion of the opening 18 holes. The third and final round is set for Tuesday, with players teeing off from the first and 11th tees beginning at approximately 8 a.m. ECU will play alongside Cincinnati, Kennesaw State and Miami (Ohio) on Monday.
The Pirates are coming off a first-place showing at The Rod Myers Invitational at the Duke Golf Club on Oct. 11-12. East Carolina shot 15-under in the 36-hole rain-shortened event to win by seven strokes over No. 25 North Carolina and nine strokes ahead of No. 2 Baylor.
Junior George Kilgore recorded his first intercollegiate victory and 7-under to win by two strokes. Fellow junior Wes Conover posted his third top-5 finish of the fall season, tying for fourth at 4-under. Al Dickens finished tied for sixth for his second top-10 finish of the fall. Tim Conover and Jacob Hicks complete the Pirates' five-man roster and Jackson Spires will complete as an individual.
