Setting The Scene
? Following a sixth-place finish at the Gulf Coast Showcase, East Carolina returns home to face Central Connecticut Sunday .
?Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 2 p.m. inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on-line on ESPN3. It can also be heard on the Pirate IMG Sports Network and ecupirates.com
?The Pirates are 2-1 at home this season with both victories coming over non-Division I opponents. Central Connecticut enters the game with an overall record of 0-5 with an 0-2 mark on the road and 0-3 at neutral sites.

What To Watch For
? B.J. Tyson, Terry Whisnant and Caleb White have account for 59.8 percent of the Pirates' offense this season. The trio has combined to score 269 of their 450 points.
?The Pirates have had one 20-point scorer in five of the first six games. Tyson has scored more than 20 three times, while Whisnant has scored over 20 twice and White has done it once.
?White (12) and Whisnant (13) have combined to make 25 of the Pirates' 34 3-pointers this season. They are a combined 25-of-64 (.390) outside the arc.
? East Carolina has won all three games in which it has out-rebounded its opponent, while it has lost all three games in which it has lost the battle of the boards.
?ECU has turned the ball over more times than its opponent just once this season. Ironically, it was in the WIN over Fresno State.
?Tyson has scored more than 20 points in a game three times this season, including 24 last time out against Hawaii.
?The Pirates are playing for the fifth time on Sunday during the last two seasons and has compiled a 1-3 record. ECU lost to UNC Asheville two weeks ago and dropped contest to UNC Wilmington and Georgia State a year ago.
?ECU made 41 percent of its total 3-pointers for the year this past Wednesday with a season-high 10 against Hawaii.
Scouting Central Connecticut
? Central Connecticut has lost each of its first five games to start the 2014-15 season and have yet to play a home game.
? Sophomore Matt Mobley is the Blue Devils leading scorer, averaging 20.2 points per game with three games scoring 20 points or more. Faronte Drakeford and Khalen Cumberlander are also averaging double figures with 10.6 ppg apiece.
? The Blue Devils' season-high for points this season was 63 in the 2014-15 lid-lifter against Fairfield. They have scored 60 or less four times and have yielded 65 or more points four times.
? Central Connecticut has five seniors on its roster, including Aberdeen, N.C. native Faronte Drakeford.
Series History
? East Carolina owns a 2-1 series advantage over Central Connecticut. All three previous meeting took place during the 1980s with the home team winning each game.
?The Pirates are 9-6 all-time against current members of the Northeast Conference. Sunday's game is the first game an NEC opponent since facing Robert Morris and Mount St. Mary's during the 2000-01 season.
?ECU coach Jeff Lebo has never faced Central Connecticut or any current members of the Northeast Conference.
