MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
? The victory was East Carolina's eighth straight over UNCG as it improved to 11-2 all-time against the Spartans.
? The win gave ECU consecutive victories for the first time this season. The Pirates defeated Florida A&M 71-57 in their previous game on Monday.
? Coach Jeff Lebo won his 80th game at ECU, becoming just the third coach in school history to reach the 80-win plateau (Howard Porter 182, Tom Quinn 102).
? The Pirates finished non-conference play with a winning record for the fifth consecutive year, all under coach Lebo.
TEAM NOTES
? East Carolina posted its best single half shooting percentage of the year, connecting on 72.7 percent (16-22) of its field goal attempts before halftime. It was the Pirates' second 70 percent shooting half of the year. They also shot 72.0 percent (18-25) in the first half against Central Connecticut.
? The Pirates' 19-point halftime margin (45-26) was its largest of the season against a Division I opponent.
? ECU distributed 20 assists for the third time this season. It handed out 21 assists against Virginia University of Lynchburg and 20 against Central Connecticut.
? East Carolina improved to 6-0 this season when holding its opponent under 60 points. UNCG's 50 points are the fewest allowed by the Pirates this season.
? The Pirates won their fifth straight home game and finished non-conference play with a 6-1 record inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. ECU is 37-9 at home against non-conference opponents under coach Jeff Lebo.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
? Terry Whisnant scored 14 points of his team-high 17 points in the first half. It was the most points by any ECU player before halftime this season. It was the third time in the last four games that he scored double digits in the opening 20 minutes.
? Whisnant distributed a career-high six assists, besting his previous high of four against UNCG while at Florida State on Dec. 11, 2011.
? Michel-Ofik Nzege reached double figures scoring for the second consecutive game and the fifth time overall this year. Nzege finished with 12 points.
? Caleb White posted double figures scoring for the second straight game and the 10th time this season. White finished with 14 points, bringing his career total to exactly 600.
