? East Carolina won its 15th game of the season, giving the Pirates four consecutive seasons with 15 or more wins. The last time they had four straight 15-win season was from 1993-97.
? Head Coach Jeff Lebo is the first coach in school history to win 15 games in each of his first four seasons. Tonight's win was the 71st of his ECU career, moving him past Bill Herrion into sole possession of third-place on the ECU career wins list.
? The victory was the Pirates' 400th at Minges Coliseum, which opened during the 1967-68 season.
? ECU won its sixth straight game against Rice and improved to 9-5 all-time against the Owls. The Pirates are 5-0 against Rice under Lebo, which includes a 2012 C-USA tournament opening round victory.
? The Pirates collected 10 steals for the first time in league play this season and first time since recording 10 against McNeese State on Nov. 25.
? ECU out-rebounded its opponent for only the third time in a conference game this year. They collected six more rebounds than Rice, matching its top rebounding margin in league play (+6 vs. Florida Atlantic).
? The Pirates improved to 3-3 when holding their opponent to less than 60 points this season.
? East Carolina went to the foul line more than 25 times for the second straight game (27) and improved to 11-1 this season when having 25 or more free throw attempts.
PLAYERS NOTES
? Akeem Richmond set the ECU career record for 3-point field goals, breaking the record of 229 held by Lester Lyons. Richmond has made 230 in 63 games at ECU. The previous record was held by Lester Lyons, who lettered from 1990-94.
? Richmond moved over the 1500-point plateau, scoring 23 points to bring his career total to 1,518.
? Richmond went over 500 points for the season becoming the eighth player in school history to score 500 points in a season. He currently ranks seventh with 508 points this year.
? Richmond moved into fourth-place on the C-USA single-season 3-point field goals made list with 125, passing Louisville's Taquan Dean (122, 2004-05). He is currently fifth on the conference's 3-point attempts list with 322.
? Michael Zangari tied his career-high with 17 points. He also had 17 earlier this season against VMI.
? Prince Williams grabbed a career-high eight rebounds. His previous best was seven against UNC Asheville in November and seven versus Rider last March.
? Caleb White played all 40 minutes for the second-straight game. Richmond played every minute for the fourth time this season.
