GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina senior Zach Houchins was selected in the 13th round by the Los Angeles Angles Saturday afternoon during the third day of the 2014 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
Houchins, who earned First-Team All-Conference USA honors in 2014, was taken with the 389th overall pick and is the third Pirate selected in this year's draft behind Jeff Hoffman (No. 9 overall/Toronto Blue Jays) and Ryan Williams (10th RD/Chicago Cubs).
