
Erika Figueroa Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Following a record-setting weekend, East Carolina senior libero Erika Figueroa has been named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll according to an announcement by the league office Monday.
The accolade marks the second time this season that Figueroa has been recognized by the AAC for an outstanding weekend of play. She was named the league's defensive player of the week back on Sept. 28.
Figueroa collected 58 digs in matches against Memphis and Cincinnati for an average of 7.25 per set. She turned in a program single-match record and career-high 36 versus the Tigers before adding 22 in three sets against the Bearcats.
In the latest release of the national statistics, Figueroa is ranked 25th among Division I players with an average of 5.08 digs per set. That mark also ranks her third in the AAC.
With her performance over the weekend, Figueroa moved closer to setting the single-season program record. She is currently owns 518 which is 24 away from surpassing Carrie Brne's mark of 541 set back in 1994. Figueroa is also fourth on the school's career chart with 1,291 digs to her credit.
East Carolina will embark on its final road trip of the regular season this weekend, heading to Houston Friday and Tulane Sunday.
