Pirates Open Las Vegas Invitational At Cal

BERKELEY, Calif.. -- East Carolina will play its first road game of the 2015-16 regular season when it travels to the west coast, to square off against the No. 14 California on Friday at 8 p.m. PT (11 ET) as part of the Las Vegas Invitational.
Friday's game will be televised on the PAC-12 Networks with Roxy Bernstein (play-by-play) and former UCLA and St. John's head coach Steve Lavin (analyst) on the call. The contest will also be available via the Pirate-IMG Sports Network, with Jeff Charles and Si Seymour calling all the action.
The Pirates enter the game with a record of 2-0 following home victories over Grambling State and Charlotte to start the season. Junior Caleb White topped the 20-point mark in each game, dropping 21 on the Tigers in the season-opener and 20 on the 49ers. Michel Nzege registered a career-high 21 points versus Charlotte Monday, while newcomers Kentrell Barkley and Clarence Williams have each come off the bench to grab 11 rebounds in a game.
Cal, which also enters the contest with a 2-0 mark, has five players averaging double figures with an average margin of victory of 25 points in its wins over Rice and UC-Santa Barbara. Senior Tyronne Wallace leads the Golden Bears with 22.0 points per game (ppg), while freshman Jaylen Brown is averaging 15.5 ppg.
East Carolina, which has never played a game in state of California, is facing the Golden Bears for the first time and a PAC-12 opponent for just the third time with both of those games being played at neutral sites. ECU is 1-1 all-time against members of the PAC-12.
