GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The East Carolina men's basketball program has signed Deng Riak (Bradenton, Fla./Victory Rock Prep) to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Jeff Lebo announced Friday. Riak joins fall signees Kentrell Barkley (Durham, N.C./Northern Durham HS) and Clarence Williams (Tallahassee, Fla./Trinity Valley Community College, Texas) as the Pirates' three-member signing class of 2015.
"Our staff is very excited about the addition of Deng to our team," Lebo said. "We believe that he has the skill set for a guy his size that will help elevate our program in the American Athletic Conference."
Riak, a 6-foot-10-inch, 220-pound power forward, is a native of Melbourne, Australia, where he played on the country's 17-and-under national team. He attended prep school at Victory Rock Prep in Bradenton, Fla., averaging 12 points and eight rebounds this past season.
The NCAA Division I spring men's basketball signing period continues through May 20.
