Goggins Finishes in Top 20 at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -- East Carolina's redshirt senior sprinter Aiesha Goggins finished her collegiate career with a top 20 finish in the women's 400-meter dash at the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Goggins placed 18th in the event after recording a time of 53.54 in the semifinals. She was a little more than one second shy of earning a qualifying time and advancing to the finals on Saturday, June 13.
The Durham, N.C., native closes the door on a successful four-year career at East Carolina where she is the current school record holder in the indoor 400-meter dash (53.80), indoor 500-meter dash (1:13.90), indoor 4x400-meter relay (3:34.02), outdoor 400-meter dash (51.48), outdoor 4x400-meter relay (3:35.75) and outdoor sprint medley relay (3:51.00). Goggins has appeared in the NCAA Outdoor Championships on two occasions and owns a Second Team All-America honor after placing 10th in the 400-meter dash in 2011.
East Carolina's Avion Jones, a junior jumper, will compete in the men's high jump finals Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. (ET).
