ECU Trio Named AAC Scholar-Athlete Excellence Award Winners

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - East Carolina upperclassmen Rokas Cepulis (swimming & diving), Katie Kirk (golf) and Bailie Monahan (swimming & diving) have been named 2014-15 American Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Excellence Award Winners according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
The Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Awards are given to one student-athlete in each American Athletic Conference-sponsored sport based on academic credentials, athletic accolades and performances, and volunteer service to the community. Student-athletes who have attained junior academic standing and a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 are eligible.
Memphis led the American with five award recipients, followed by Connecticut (four), East Carolina (three), SMU (three), Cincinnati (two), UCF (two), Houston (one), Tulane (one) and Tulsa (one).
