GREENVILLE, N.C. - The 21st Annual Meet the Pirates event, East Carolina's preseason football fanfest, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22 inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium from 6-9 p.m. This year's activities will once again be open to the public, family friendly and free for all in attendance. Entry into the stadium will be through Gate 7 or 8 on the North Side.
Pirate football fans are invited to receive autographs from head coach Ruffin McNeill and the 2015 team from 7-9 p.m. To help ensure everyone in attendance has a chance to meet all the players and Coach McNeill, fans are asked to please limit their autograph requests to one item per person. Posters, magnets and schedule cards with game information will be available for free to fans.
New this year, fans can test their field-goal kicking skills for a chance to win a FREE pair of mini-plan ticket packages valued at $270. Participants attempting the 35-yard field goal must be 18 years or older, and will kick towards the Boneyard. Ticket Office representatives will be on hand at midfield to assist fans with their field goal attempts, while also taking new orders for fans that have not purchased tickets for the 2015 season. Fans will have the ability to physically select open seats that are still available.
One hour prior to the start of the football autograph session, Pirate fans will also have a chance to secure autographs from the soccer and volleyball programs, as well as the cheer and dance squads starting at 6 p.m. (ET).
ARAMARK concessions and a Dowdy Student Stores souvenir booth, which will have the latest in Pirate 2015 sideline gear and apparel, will be open beneath The Boneyard section of the stands adjacent to the East endzone. Fans are asked to keep their food and beverages off the football-playing surface.
The Pirates will open the 2015 season at home against Towson inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5 with a 6 p.m. (ET) scheduled kickoff.
Season tickets remain on sale with packages starting as low as $165 each, in addition to 3-game mini-plan packages which are also available for $135. Single game tickets have also been placed on sale for all six home games this season. Tickets can be purchased by calling the ECU Athletic Ticket Office at (252) 737-4500 or through the Online Ticket Center.
