Pirates Headed To The American Basketball Media Day

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The American Athletic Conference will host its annual basketball media day on Monday, Oct. 24, at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott with East Carolina men's and women's basketball head coaches Jeff Lebo and Heather Macy participating. Seniors Michel Nzege and Caleb White will represent the Pirates on the men's side as will sophomore Alex Frazier during the women's media session.
The day will serve as the unofficial open to men's and women's basketball season, and the American Digital Network will have live coverage beginning at 8 a.m. ET with Commissioner Mike Aresco's opening remarks. Coaches and student-athletes from all 22 men's and women's teams will also appear on the show throughout the day which will be hosted by Hali Oughton and Mike O'Donnell and will be streamed live and for free.
Coach Lebo and White will join the show at 10:35 a.m. with Coach Macy and Frazier appearing on the broadcast at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Fans are invited to follow the Pirates Monday on Snapchat (ECUAthletics) as the three aforementioned student-athletes will be posting throughout the day. Updates will also be provided on Twitter at @ecupiratehoops and @ecuwomenshoops as well as Instagram and Facebook at /ECUAthletics.
Additionally, three American Twitter feeds being utilized on media day will be @American_Conf, @American_MBB, and @American_WBB. The preseason poll, along with preseason player of the year, preseason rookie of the year and first and second-team all-conference honors will also be announced that day ahead of both the men's and women's sessions.

On Sunday night, the assembled basketball student-athletes will take part in a media training session from The Speaking Specialists, designed to assist them throughout the season.

Additionally, basketball student-athletes will be taking part in an organized service activity Monday, building bags for children in need.
