"Steamboat is known for our welcoming western roots, family friendly atmosphere and competitive athletic spirit," said Rob Perlman, president and chief operating officer of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. "The Mascot Stampede encompasses all these values into one unbelievably fun event. We look forward to seeing what creative antics the mascots will bring to the snow this winter!"
The two-day event at Steamboat will be packed with mascot and fan related activities on Steamboat's famous Champagne Powder® snow, and includes a Mascot Boot Camp, full of team building and best practices to help the student performers become better mascots. A complete list of events is available at www.steamboat.com/mascots.
"The Mascot Stampede reminds us how passionate student performers are about their craft and that they love to learn and get better," says Dave Raymond, Emperor of Fun and Games at REG. "But at the end of the day, they really love to entertain, inspire and compete! The payoff is watching a group of wild and zany mascots interact with skiers and college fans from all over the country. Who knows, the winner of the Mascot Stampede may one day be inducted into the National Mascot Hall of Fame!"
