PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- East Carolina freshman Kentrell Barkley has been named to the American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday.
Barkley earned his first weekly honor roll distinction after averaging 14.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in 38.5 minutes per game to help the Pirates split their two contests. He scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help ECU earn a road victory over Tulane Wednesday, then posted his fourth double-double of the year with 14 points and 13 rebounds versus Cincinnati playing all 40 minutes.
Barkley also distributed six assists without a turnover Saturday against the Bearcats and registered nine assists against one turnover in 77 total minutes during the week. He made four 3-pointers against Cincinnati to match his career-high.
It's the seventh time this season that ECU has had a player named to the weekly honor roll. Caleb White has been selected three times, B.J. Tyson twice and Prince Williams once.
