ECU Wraps Up Fall Camp In Greenville; Bobby Fulp Profile
August 19, 2016 | Football
GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina returned to Hight Field inside the Cliff Moore Practice complex for a one-hour practice Friday morning wearing helmets and shorts. Originally scheduled for an afternoon session, first-year head coach Scottie Montgomery elected to move the workout to an earlier time due to the forecast of inclement weather later in the day.
"Today was all about fine-tuning all phases of the game," Montgomery said. "It was a lot of situational work, end of the game work and two-point plays – all those things you have to be good at with a couple of weeks away from the first game. We are right on schedule with that and it was a good day. Right now we are at 100 percent with our base system installment. We will have some things come up during game week planning that we'll add, but overall we are right where we need to be. Our guys have been swamped with work from a football stand point, which is what camp is all about."
Friday's practice, the 18th for ECU, consisted of individual group work, nearly 20 minutes of special teams drills and 15 minutes of team situations concentrating on fourth downs and two-point plays.
ECU has one scheduled practice remaining, which will be in Charlotte on Saturday when the Pirates hold a public workout at Rocky River High School from 2:45-5 p.m. The full-pad practice is open to all Pirate Club members, fans and the media.
Single-game, three-game mini packs and season tickets for all ECU home games are still available to the Pirate Nation and can be purchased by calling the ECU Athletic Ticket Office at 252-737-4500, through the Online Ticket Center, or by visiting the ECU Athletics Ticket Office. Pirate Profile: DB Bobby Fulp
My dream vacation is: Going to Italy.
Person in history I'd most like to meet (& why): Muhammad Ali. I loved his attitude, swagger and how he approached his world.
Best athlete I've played against: Is Zay Jones, without a doubt.
Player on this team who'll surprise this year: I think the whole team will surprise the Pirate Nation.
If I could attend any sporting event it would be: Kobe Bryant's last game. I wanted to be there in person so bad, but just couldn't get there.
I can't imagine living without: Water. It's hot in Greenville, especially during camp.
My favorite movie is: The Lion King, hands down.
If I could be a character in a movie or a TV show, it would be: Robert McCall in the Equalizer. Denzel Washington did a great job in that movie and the sequel.
My favorite cartoon/TV show as a child was: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. It was short lived, but I used to love watching that show everyday.
If I were a superhero I'd be: Superman.
What's the No. 1 song on your Ipod: My Love (Route 94).
If you could play a musical instrument, it would be: The guitar. I like the drums, but I have no rhythm. I can't even dance, so I'll go with the guitar.
My favorite pro sports team is: Atlanta Falcons.
The one thing I would most want to accomplish in football is: Winning a championship.
The thing I like most about ECU is: The brotherhood on the football team.
My favorite toy as a child: Plastic animals. I know it sounds weird, but I loved playing with those. They were about the size of the green plastic army men.
My favorite midnight snack: Butter pecan ice cream.
When I played football as a kid, I pretended I was: Michael Vick. I'm a huge Falcons fan and I wanted to run the ball all the time.
If I had 10 million dollars I would: Spread it around with my family. I would move them all to Italy with me, but once they got there they would be on their own.
When I want to get away from my sport, I: Like to sleep and listen to music.
My advice to kids is: You have to get your education. That's important and will carry you a long way.
I'm proudest of: Making it to East Carolina.
My most prized possession is: My family.
My worst fear is: Being stranded somewhere and not knowing how to get home.
After meeting Coach Montgomery for the first time, I thought to myself: He is smooth dude, kicked back and has everything in order.
Describe Coach Montgomery in three words or less: Smoove, meaning he has swagger.
If I could give Coach Montgomery some advice, it would be: Hit the batting cages. He didn't look good during the home run derby, so he has some work to do. Coach Phil (McGeoghan) and Caleb Pratt can give him some pointers!
