SIMPSONVILLE, KY. – ECU sophomore Dorthea Fobrigd fired a two-over par 218 to finish in second place, while freshman Kathryn Carson posted a seven-over par 223 for a share of ninth helping No. 46 ECU to a share of fourth place finish at the 2017 Cardinal Cup. Forbrigd and Carson joined Lisa Pettersson (224), who finished tied for 13th among the Top 25 in the weekend event.

"Very pleased with our competiveness with some of the top teams in the country. I thought we were competitive with Illinois, and Wisconsin, both top teams in the country. The last nine holes were tougher today with the windy conditions and we didn't handle it the way we would have liked, but still pleased as we tied Kent State, who is ranked in the Top 20. But pleased with picking up wins against Kentucky, Memphis and Virginia Tech all Top 50 teams. Dorthea played really well finishing second and she has had a great fall and playing some good golf right now for us."
