Game Times And Rosters Set For Purple-Gold World Series

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU baseball team will conclude its fall practice this weekend with its annual Purple-Gold World Series at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium starting Thursday, Nov. 9 at 3:15 p.m. (EDT).
The Pirates, who began team practice on Sept. 29, will play the first of three intra-squad scrimmages starting Nov. 9 at 3:15 p.m., followed by game two on Friday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. before concluding the annual event on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. Admission is free to all Pirate fans for the weekend series.
Prior to the Purple-Gold Draft, which was held Monday, fourth-year head coach Cliff Godwin named West Covington and Drew Henrickson co-head coaches for the Purple squad, while Davis Kirkpatrick and Ryan Ross will co-skipper the Gold squad.
The Purple team will consist of Jake Agnos, Dusty Baker, Zach Barnes, Spencer Brickhouse, Turner Brown, Austin Covers, Covington, Chris Holba, Kirkpatrick, Sam Lanier, Connor Litton, Bryant Packard, Spencer Smith, Willy Strong, Jake Washer, Jeremy Whitehead, Gavin Williams and Bryson Worrell.
Gold will be represented by Nick Barber, Cole Beavin, Trey Benton, Matt Bridges, Seth Caddell, Cam Colmore, Alec Burleson, Chandler Jenkins, Noah Jones, Kirkpatrick, Jake Kuchmaner, Brady Lloyd, Josh Netterville, Ross, Tyler Smith, Evan Voliva, Collin Watt and Dwanya Williams-Sutton.
Godwin, who will serve as the commissioner, has indicated that Purple will be the home team for Games 1 and 3 and will occupy the third base dugout. Starting pitchers for all three games will be announced at a later date.
