Women’s Golf Adds Kilsti To Signing Class
December 21, 2018 | Women's Golf
GREENVILLE, N.C. – ECU Head Women's Golf Coach Kevin Williams has announced that Oda Kilsti has signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf for the Pirates during the 2019 -20 season. She is the third player committed to join the team along with Symone Henriques and Caroline Hermes who both signed on Nov. 15.
Â
"On paper this is the strongest recruiting class we have ever signed," Williams said. "We are extremely excited about Caroline, Symone and Oda joining our program. I'm confident they will make a significant impact on our program the next four years."
Â
Oda Sofie Kilsti, Skodje, Norway (Métis Upper Secondary School)
Member of the Norwegian National Team … Member of the Aalesund Golfklubb that claimed the Norwegian Team Championship … Finished second at the 2018 Norgescup Order of Merit and Norgescup 6 at Larvik … Finished 14th at the Swedish Professional Golf Tour's 2018 NES Open where she was tied after first round action with former Pirate Frida Gustafsson Spang.
Â
Coach Williams' Comments: "We are extremely fortunate to add Oda Sofie Kilsti to our 2019 signing class. Oda is tall, athletic and possesses a tremendous amount of clubhead speed. She burst on the scene this summer in Norway with her victory in the Norwegian National Match Play Championship over the best pros and amateurs in the country. Just like the other Norwegians we have had in our program, Oda is a wonderful student and a hard worker."
Â
The Pirates (25-26) will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 3 when they travel to Orlando, Fla. to participate in the UCF Challenge, which will be played at the Eagle Creek Golf Club.
